Competencies are the skills, knowledge and behaviours that lead to successful performance and distinguish superior performers from mediocre performers. They are defined as a behavioural disposition enabling individuals to succeed and solve problems in the face of ambiguous and dynamic environments.
A Competency framework is essentially a structured compilation of competencies that are relevant for successful performance in an organisation. It defines behaviours that are required to effectively manage both current and emerging work challenges in the organisation. It facilitates exploring the behaviors that can help to achieve the goals of Human Wildlife Conflict mitigation and to strengthen awareness among personnel, of key relevant departments and agencies, of their roles and their ability to effectively contribute to overall goal of HWC mitigation.
A competency framework for HWC mitigation has been drafted under the Indo-German Cooperation, and can be downloaded from here
